The Marketing Minded Mentalist
"I had the pleasure of seeing David Thiel present his workshop "The Marketing Minded Mentalist" at MindVention. I was also privy to getting one of the very first copies of his book. Let me just say this – If I had this material 40 years ago I would have made many thousands of dollars! Everything David states in the book is right on. If you get this material, and apply it, you WILL succeed. There is nothing else I can say!"

This business-minded eBook explains:
Some of this material was first presented as David Thiel lectured at the premiere gathering of mentalists at MindVention in Las Vegas. If you were there, you know how practical this information is in the real world. But there's MUCH in this book for the pro, the semi - pro -- or even the performer who is thinking about marketing his skills for the first time.
The Marketing Minded Mentalist is written in David's engaging style, easy to understand -- the kind of information that will help you revolutionize your career. You'll see samples of the contracts, invoices and other documents he uses in his day to day business and work-in-the-real-world advice on how to use them.
Please accept this motivational excerpt, the last page of this book, as a gift to you. Feel free to copy it, paste it where you'll see every day. .

"I can only add my own praise for this book. Conversational in tone, witty in places, insightful throughout. Having just moved to a new market, I found it particularly intriguing and riddled with wisdom. David brings that same 'old time' work ethic to marketing that so many feel is missing from the arena of practising and performing, and it is a refreshing look at an essential segment of the business aspect of entertainment.
Inspired by this book, I've made a number of changes in my marketing plan recently, and I fully expect them to pay dividends - indeed, some already are.
If you are serious about working as an entertainer, take some time to read David's advice - you'll be glad you did."

There are not many marketing manuals designed by and for mentalists, but David Thiel has aptly taken on that challenge and filled that need with a manual that’s filled with practical information about how to market a mentalist, including material on designing your website, sales packages, handling established clients, and contracts. If you’re interested in marketing yourself, as opposed to being a happy hobbyist, then this 58 page downloadable PDF is certainly worth getting and definitely recommended.

"The Marketing Minded Mentalist is exactly what one would expect from a professional of David's calibre, plus much more. This is David's contribution to each of us and our magic business. Marketing is one of the most important areas to operating a mentalism business, yet for many, one of the most feared, dreaded, confusing and overwhelming areas as well.
David opens up his world and does much more than just saying "this is what I did and what works well for me." He takes us on his journey on his transition from magic to mentalism. He clarifies that there is difference between mentalism and magic. He very clearly addresses the many differences including perception, execution and implementation as he first had to identify these things, THEN accept these things himself, and commit to these differences. He's done this is a nice way that is non-offensive, non-elitist (as often accused by magicians) and from multiple perspectives - his, the customers, agents and more."
We can see the path to David's success and his successful transition. He "gets it." This will help performers of all levels and offer great insight and clarity to those confused. Confused people will never take action, and David's book takes away that confusion so all that is left is for you to take action."

"I'm reading the book right now. It's FULL of very good information. This book will help many performers to be more "marketing minded". David: you did really a GREAT job, my friend!"
Luca Volpe, Mentalist
"The title, "The Marketing Minded Mentalist" indicates this is a book on marketing but it covers more than that. It's also a book on running a successful business. I'm not going into great detail but in essence think about this: Here is a man whom many consider a class act that has thousands of shows under his belt. A man that has made a performance transition and has many years of experience marketing himself to make a living. So, what is it worth to gain knowledge from a successful and experienced man such as David? $35.00? Pftttttt
Some things inside the book include target markets, knowing your targets/what they are buying, planning, executing and many other key points and important sections. David tries to give clarity to what you are doing. He puts the market shoes on your feet and trades the shoes a bit. David uses a common sense approach to allow you to see the facts. He reminds experienced mentalists of their selling points (which for me is good to hear from years past).
David is sharing what has worked and what continues to work for him. There is no filler. He writes about important components and gets right to the point. He breaks down essential factors in an “easy to understand” way. We've all read books on selling. This one offers no hype, bull-shit scenarios nor pages of typical bla bla bla.
It is plain to see why David has been and continues to be successful. He knows how to run and maintain a business. I applaud the fact that he covers what he wants to cover minus all the BS. His points are professionally laid out and easy to follow. David truly opens the door to his private office- offering his personal and experienced information. It was a pleasure to learn what has worked and still works for David. This is a good book and I will apply the things I learned."

"I'm on the Train!!!! And David Thiel is the conductor. Honestly, I've read very few books from cover to cover in one sitting, but this is the exception! Insightful and inspiring, low key yet exciting, uncommon common sense plus facts and experience only a few might have. After almost 40 years of singing/dancing/performing on stage and 10 years of studying Mentalism it's time for me to take the plunge. And this is just the diving board I've needed. If you are in a position like myself, I can't imagine a better book. It lays out a marketing plan and a whole lot more."
Dave Koenig, Entertainer at Universal Orlando
"I have read the eBook 5 times...no really I have. This is definitely one of my favourite purchases, and I am in the process of taking the necessary initial steps to start up my mentalism career. The book is full of practical, easy-to-follow information. I had no idea how to start this journey, but David gave me the map and the fuel. Thanks. David! "

"I saw David's lecture on marketing at MINDvention and, as a former marketer myself, immediately recognized the legitimacy and value of his approach. Grounded firmly in established marketing and sales principles and adapted to mystery performance, I knew this material was valuable and useable. I bought the book and am thoroughly pleased with it."
