The hold on this pendulum is a "Goldstone." Goldstone is a man-made stone, initially created by Italian monks. It's glass infused with copper filings. It's quite heavy...but very cool to the touch.
The thing I really like about this pendulum, aside from the fact that it is essentially a dual bob (either end will swing well), is that no-doubt-about-it pointer. There is going to be no question where it's pointing. Pointers this elegant are increasingly hard to find.
The whole pendulum glitters. Hold it under the light and you'll see what I mean.
It's 8.5 inches long...and the pointer itself is nearly three inches of that.
