This is the first of our line of pendulums featuring vintage stop watches and pocket watches. Think Steampunk. That's what all the brass and alloy cog accents are about.
Think elegance with the authentic antique key. That key has been naturally worn by time. (You need to hold the key horizontally between two fingers -- and you'll see how perfectly responsive it is.) The chain is a very sturdy metal alloy...and the cogs make this wonderful soft tinkling sound as the pendulum moves.
But the star of this pendulum isn't the antique key...or the antique cogs and wheels. Nope. Have a close look at that stopwatch. If you can get the picture large enough, you're going to see the words "MADE IN USSR" just below the number 30. If you're a pocket watch or a stop watch collector (and there are a lot of them) -- you know that seeing a watch in this condition stamped with the USSR is a rare thing.
I was looking at this and thinking about how a stopwatch could be used in a routine. I mean it's wonderfully preserved (and the stopwatch works PERFECTLY) and I thought about how wonderful it would be to force a number, do the effect and have that number displayed on the watch as a capper to the effect. Or to be timed while...something...happens.
