The Elements:

I will use the MINDvention 2021 commemorative pendulum as a example here because of the intricate number of steps needed in their design and creation. 
  • Every pendulum has a structure from the top down: HOLD, chain, BREAK, chain, BOB.
  • Elements are critical; the best are repurposed historical items like chandelier crystal prisms and old gate keys. In the case of the MINDvention pendulums, Sheree used both spear (very rare) and teardrop crystal chandelier prisms. 
  • Quality Swarovski crystals add to the mystique and visual impact of each pendulum. One of the MINDvention pendulum styles also uses large opalescent Swarovski crystal teardrop pendants as bobs. See the Sapphire Ice pendulum.
  • Holds can be made from nearly any element including rocks, petrified wood, old coins, costume jewelry pieces, fool's gold or metal items.  The MINDvention pendulums use metal alloy bezels rosined with the MINDvention logo. One is a swivel piece, a decorative crescent moon allowing for double-sided rosining, while the other HOLD is a single sided square bezel. 
  • Chain is chosen for its sturdiness and appropriateness to the other elements. 
  • Findings can be a variety of metals, but the MINDvention pendulums use pewter bead caps. 
  • All pendulums must be a certain length...usually between 9" and 11" to assure response in their swing.
  • Every pendulum comes with a collector's "Certificate of Authenticity" numbered and dated. 
  • To ensure collectability, our pendulums, ALL our designs, are made in extremely limited editions, rarely more than 5 (and that is very rare). Most are single ONE-OF-A-KIND edition, like our custom-made by request pendulums.

Hold: Double-faced spinning moon crescent with two-part logo on either side. Component is a metal alloy, attractive and sturdy. One side is adorned with a diamond Swarovski crystal flatback.


Bob: Rare repurposed antique crystal chandelier spear prism with sharp cut edges for maximum light refraction. Crystal is brittle so finding these slender prisms intact is very difficult. Minor filing has been performed to reduce chipped sharp edges. This NOT a defect; this is part of the character of the piece. Prism measures 3".


(Note: Crystal prism spear comes with its own custom-designed velvet sack for protection.)


Breaks: A crystal orb that once accompanied the above prism is repurposed as a bead “break.”
